Ghanaian businesses will have the opportunity to spur on their growth through challenger thinking. PHD Ghana will, in partnership with co-author of the Overthrow II, eatbigfish host Masterclass Accra. The capacity building event will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) at end of March 2020. The event aims to sharpen the minds of business leaders to innovations for business growth.

PHD Ghana is fast establishing itself as a powerhouse of thought leadership in marketing communication industry in Africa. Since they successfully launched the PHD’s publication on the rise of Artificial Intelligence and its implication for marketing “Sentience” back in 2015, with the Man vrs Machine Debate, they have not looked back.

Bright Ladzekpo, CEO of PHD Ghana said “at PHD, thought-leadership is in our DNA and we are unrivalled when it comes the depth of strategic insight and the trends that will shape the future of many business sectors, globally and locally”. The upcoming masterclass is themed, ‘Challenger thinking means business growth’. Touching on one of core beliefs, as we like to think of ourselves as the growth obsessed agency with a challenger mindset”, he emphasized.

PHD Ghana Masterclass Events

The previous two Masterclass events held by PHD Ghana, christened ‘The Masterclass Accra – Science meets Marketing’ in the last quarter of 2019 recorded a higher-than expected feedback from attendees, drawn from a number of high-profile SME businesses in Ghana and Nigeria. The agency sees the initiative as one that will grow into West and Central Africa’s topmost local Masterclass to attend.

The term ‘challenger brand’ was coined by Adam Morgan, a brand consultant and co-founder of eatbigfish, 20 years ago. Since then a new wave of challengers has been changing the way the categories around us think and behave. It is financed by a new type of investor, harnessing emerging structural changes, and new ways to build relationships with their consumers. They have generated an enormous energy and excitement in the marketing and business community.

The Program Outline

According to programme outline shared with Ghana Talks Business, this special edition The Masterclass Accra is designed to have three facilitators and two workshops. Followed by an in-depth interaction with the resource persons during a cruise on the Volta Lake aboard the Dodi Princess.

The speakers will focus on the science, the strategic principles and the types of funding that drive disproportionate growth for challenger brands.
