The Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company Limited, Mr. John Dekyem Attafuah, has been sacked from his position with immediate effect.

His dismissal expected to be another round of a non-ministerial reshuffle.

John Dekyem Attafuah has been asked to proceed on leave, According to sources John Dekyem Attafuah is expected to be reassigned.

The Board of the airport company, which manages all airports and aerodromes, is headed by Oboshie Sai-Coffie and has not been dissolved as reported in some sections of the media.

The removal of Attafuah signals a wave of removals and possible sackings within the Akufo-Addo government.

The source explained that the decision for the non-ministerial reshuffle was reached during a government retreat at Peduase Lodge in December 2018.

However, John Dekyem Attafuah is being accused of sabotaging the initiatives of government within the Ghana Airport Company and has been reportedly autocratic in his leadership of the company.

President Nana Akufo Addo appointed Mr. John Dekyem Attafuah as the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) in March 2017.

The appointment was confirmed in a statement dated March 20, 2017, by the Ghana Airports Company Limited.

Mr. John Attafuah, a Management Consultant, replaced Mr. Charles Asare who resigned as the GACL MD on March 22, 2017.
