Finance minister Hon. Seth Terkper has delivered the 2016 budget statement touting the economic achievement of the John Dramani Mahama led government. He lauded the International Monetary Policy partnership with the government on the home-grown policy under the extended facility of 918 million USD which is mainly to give some stability to local Ghanaian economy. The local economy has seen some turbulence this year with the local currency losing ground to some of the major international trading currencies and some fiscal imbalances. But Finance minister Terkper is optimistic that going into 2016 the path taken by government is the right one. 

Themed, “Consolidating progress towards a brighter medium term” the finance minister announced that “Government will set up committee to promote fiscal discipline…”
