The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has restarted its plant and resumed the processing of crude oil after almost a year’s inactivity at its production lines.
This followed the successful procurement of some 800,000 barrels of crude oil facilitated by the Access Bank.
The refinery has not been working since February 2014 following its inability to secure letters of credit to procure crude oil.
A source at the refinery told Graphic Online’s Della Rusel Ocloo that the Crude Distillation Unit which processes crude resumed work on December 29, 2014.
The source said the Residual Fluid Catalyctic Cracking Unit (RFCC) which produces LPG and other products will come on stream by the weekend.
