I tripled my income in 2014.
Increasing your income is one of the easiest things to do in business—but you’ve got to know what you are doing. Assuming that you’re in the right business or career that you love, you should be able to use these ideas to get to the next level.
If you think about it, you have already tripled your income if you are a working professional. Consider your first job that you ever had. If you made less than $10 per hour at your first job, you have most likely tripled your income.
Here are 3 tips that I personally used to triple my income in 2014. I wish that you use these strategies to unleash the abundance in your life. Here they are:
1. Learn Like Never Before: After reading dozens of books this year, I realize that the secret ingredient to becoming a high-income earner is having the capacity to absorb a copious amount of information and putting it into practical use.
Practical usage is important. How many credential-driven ‘brainiacs’ have you seen lose the ability to think for themselves? The person who cannot be pragmatic will become utterly frustrated with their results. You have to be practical and purposeful with what you learn. Put your knowledge into serious play. Don’t let it waste. To earn more, you have to learn more.
One of the richest men in the world, Andrew Carnegie, once said “The accumulation of wealth calls for power and power is acquired through highly organized and intelligently directed specialized knowledge.” Chew that quote 10 X and digest it properly.
2. Connect 5 People Every Day: One of my favorite teachers once said, “You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” It’s true. If you go out of your way to feed people, you better expect a feast yourself.
Example: “Hey Tom, since you’re in the sales recruiting industry. I know a great saleswoman who would love to transition into the medical device field. Here is her contact information. I know she’s been talking about searching for a new job for a while.” It may have nothing to do with you, but you can bet the universe will find a way to pay you.
Make sure you connect 5 people every day. Soon, you’ll find that everyone is piling up to do you favors. Need a hand? You’ll have dozens reaching for you. If you want more friends, you need to be a friend first. You won’t have to beg for help when you need it—it will be there waiting when you’re ready.
3. Write 10 New Ideas Daily: My coach and I talk about new ideas to change the world every day. One day we want heaters in our shoes and the next day we want groceries delivered to our house. We keep championing ideas and both of our businesses improve.
Test your mind out by pushing out 10 new ideas that you can use in your career or business, everything in your life will change. They could be in any area of your life. Our financial life doesn’t only consist of what we do at work, but mostly what we do outside of it.
Break out a brand new sheet of paper or keep a small composition book by your desk. Write down all of the ideas that float to your mind. It doesn’t matter how absurd they may be. It changed my life—I know it will change your life too.
There are more tips that you can put into practice in 2015. These will only help you if you make a habit of them. If you try them for 2 weeks, you’ll fail. If you do them every day next year, write me a thank you note. Until then, see you at the bank!
