The management of GHACEM, the largest cement producer in the country has announced a reduction in the prices of their goods.

According to them, the decision was taken as a result of the cedi’s appreciation against the major foreign currencies, which has reduced their cost of production.

With just a month to end 2018, the Cedi has been relatively stable against the US Dollar. This has necessitated the reduction running up to Christmas

Prices of all brands of cement skyrocketed during the free fall of the cedi from the beginning of the year. The currency has however been seen gaining some ground for the past few weeks.

Ex-factory price of the cement has thus been reduced from GHc30.55 per 50kg bag to GHc27.965 inclusive 17.5 VAT/NHIL.

Management has therefore recommended the following prices to their distributors and retailers below:

TOWN/CITY                                         Minimum price(GHc)              Maximum price(GHc)
Accra     31.2     31.6
