The UT Bank Ghana Limited has conducted a float to create awareness of their ongoing 100 for 100,000 promotion across the nation.
The promotion, which will run till December, was officially launched two weeks ago and would give one person the opportunity to become GH¢100,000 richer.
Briefing the media, the Deputy Managing Director of UT Bank, Mrs Pearl Esua-Mensah, said the main target of the promotion was to ensure that Ghanaians developed the habit of saving in the banks by giving them the incentives to save, rather than keeping monies at home.
Explaining the campaign qualification procedure, she said one needed to deposit GH¢100 and above to be able to qualify for the draw.
‘’The more hundreds you deposit, the better your chances of winning,’’ she said.
According to her, the promotion would be running across the country in Cape Coast, Tarkwa, Tema, Kumasi, Tamale, and Accra.
She also stated that the draw would be held in Accra, in January, with two other mini draws in Kumasi and Tamale, to ensure that almost everyone got a prize.
‘’To ensure fairness, the draw is going to be held under the National Lotteries Authority, and runner-ups would receive GH¢30,000 and GH¢10,000 respectively,’’ she said.
Aside all these prizes, the Deputy Director said the bank had partnered with Electroland, suppliers of Samsung products, to offer hundred consolation prizes to the next batch of winners.
Some of the prizes include fridges, televisions, microwaves and washing machines. The rest are sound systems, irons and blenders.
Due to restrictions of the Central Bank towards new accounts, Mrs Esua-Mensah stated that the UT Bank had created the ‘’No Wahala’’ savings account, which had no restrictions for individuals who intended saving with the bank.
