Like the saying goes, success triumphs all — and a look at this year’s Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings list proves just that. As you might guess, hip-hop’s three-headed monster of Dr. Dre, Jay Z and Puff Daddy once again make up the top three of this year’s Cash King’s list.
After rounding out the top three last year with $40 million, Dr. Dre tops the list this time around with a stunning $620 million in earnings over the last calendar. The number shouldn’t even be a shock, considering how much the good Doctor raked in from Apple’s acquisition of Beats, the company founded by both he and Jimmy Iovine.

Meanwhile, the No. 2 spot finds both Puff and Jay Z tied at $60 million, thanks to their ever evolving empires. From Hov’s Roc Nation empire, his D’Ussé cognac, tours and Magna Carta… Holy Grail album to Puff’s Ciroc vodka franchice, DeLeon tequila, Blue Flame, Sean John and, oh yeah, REVOLT, the business mavericks continue to lead the charge.
Elsewhere on the list, Drake and Macklemore round the top five, while DJ Khaled and J. Cole make their debuts with earnings of $7 million a piece.
