Export Authority rewards exporters

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) has organised its annual National Awards for Export Achievement, where some 43 individuals and institutions were recognized for their sterling performance in the export business last year.

This year’s event, which was 24th, was graced by Dr Ekow Spio-Gabrah, on behalf of President John Mahama.

The coveted award – Exporter of the Year – went to Niche Cocoa Industry, am indigenous company that processes cocoa for exports.

Mrs Margaret Tweneboa-Boateng, the Chief Executive Officer of Excel Industries Limited, was also adjudged the Woman Exporter of the year. She was given a citation, a plague and a cheque of GHS1,000 from Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited.

Kasapreko Company Limited, which was adjudged the Exporter of the Year, 2012, in the 2013 edition, won gold. Mrs Juliana Opuni, who was the Woman Exporter of 2012 also won gold.
