The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies Accra, Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey has been adjudged the Marketing Man of the Year 2018 at the 30th Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) Awards.
At the 30th CIMG Awards, Managing Director of SIC Life Dr Rev Mrs Elizabeth Wyns-Dogbe was also named Marketing Woman of the Year.
They both took over from the Group Chair of the McDan Group, Daniel McKorley and the Managing Director of Internet Solutions, Yvette Atekpe who emerged winners at the 29th CIMG Awards.
Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, is a professor in Management. He has occupied several positions in the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management at the University.
In 2006, he was appointed as the Head of the CIM Unit and in 2008 got promoted to the position of Head of Marketing Department.
After successfully serving two terms as Head of Department, he was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies in September 2014.
His meteoric rise continued when exactly a year later he was appointed as the Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University.
The 30th edition of the National Marketing Performance Awards under the auspices of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) was held at the Accra International Conference Centre on September 27, 2019.
The mission of the Awards ceremony is to deepen the interest of the marketing profession and its members and to ensure that the Institute impacts positively in the performance of its legitimate role in society and the economy of Ghana and the world at large. The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) introduced the award scheme, to; create awareness for the Marketing Concept and its importance for the success of businesses, promote high professional standards and to encourage excellence among marketing practitioners and also to stimulate healthy competition among organizations.
This year’s awards was held under the theme “Celebrating 30 years of promoting marketing excellence synergies for the future”.

The Awards were under 6 main categories which are the CIMG Hall of Fame, Personalities, Media, Business, Product and Not-for-Profit Organisations.
