Rosy Fynn Climbs higher- new marketing director for Airtel Ghana

Airtel Ghana, has announced the appointment of its former Customer Experience Director, Rosy Fynn, as its new Marketing Director.

In her new role, Rosy will be responsible for translating the company’s business objectives into marketing strategies that drive revenue; lead all marketing activities, including brand strategy, research, advertising for multiple brands and bundling strategy.

With the full portfolio of growing brands, she will be charged with managing and increasing awareness for the company’s portfolio while paving the way for future organizational expansion.

Rosy will also spearhead Airtel’s efforts in competitive intelligence and customer retention and win-back.

In making the announcement, Lucy Quist said, Rosy brings admirable years of extensive telecom marketing experience, making her more than qualified to handle the competitive challenges of our environment.

“Her experience in various roles with multiple operators gives her the unique ability to approach our complex marketplace from multiple perspectives to reach the best outcome,” she stated.

“Rosy’s diverse skill set enables her to bring a strategic vision and focus to Airtel Ghana. She is results- oriented and highly collaborative, which makes her a strong cultural fit.” She has brilliant industry know-how, and brings a wealth of digital and technology marketing expertise that will really help us continue to drive forward our ambitious global digital growth plans. We are delighted to confirm Rosy as Marketing Director at Airtel Ghana” she added.

On her part, Rosy Fynn said, It is an exciting time for Airtel Ghana as it continues its rapid transformation into a truly global telecommunication brand.

“Airtel is now the 3rd largest telecoms company in the world. The Airtel brand is a wonderful asset which inspires admiration and respect wherever it goes. I am really looking forward to working with the team to build even more innovative, open and creative marketing ideas which will further drive audience participation and engagement,” she added.

Rosy established an impressive track record as Customer Experience after a short period of taking up the role.

Prior to Airtel Ghana, Rosy played a key role in Surfline’s successful commercial launch in 2014 where she was the Marketing Director.

Her impressive track records have been built along an illustrious career path which cuts across finance, consulting and the telecoms industries. She also worked at Millicom International Cellular (Tigo) where she rose through the ranks from a Commercial Executive to a Consumer Manager (CMO), and eventually as Head of Brands for Africa.

She has an impressive educational background with an MBA from Harvard Business School, Boston Massachusetts and a BA (Honors) in Computer Science and Mathematics from Smith College.

Airtel Ghana

Ghana’s Mobile Voice subscriber base increased from February 2015’s figure of 31,028,253 by 0.41% to end March 2015 at 31,154,420. The penetration rate for the month under review was 115.64%.

Airtel’s subscriber base also increased to 3,863,252 at the end of the month under review from the February 2015 figure of 3,808,747 indicating an increase of 1.43%. Airtel’s market share of 12.28% in February, 2015 increased to 12.40% at the end of March 2015. 

Airtel Ghana is part of the Bharti Airtel, a global telecommunications company with operations in 19 countries across Asia and Africa.
