Ghana Talks Business celebrates Mr. Seth Obiri who turns 50 today. Seth Obiri is a pioneer in the private pension business since its inception in 2010.

With a burning passion to make pensions work for Ghanaians, he landed in Ghana’s pensions industry after switching from insurance. With an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ approach to duty, he confidently took on this challenge when he moved to occupy the position of the Managing Director of United Pension Trustees (UPT) nearly a decade ago.

Seth is a chartered insurer and an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII). He also has an MBA in Finance, University of Leicester, UK, and over 15 years’ experience in the Pensions and Insurance Industry.
He is affable, humorous, and an exemplary leader. His strong belief in customer service has endeared him to lots of people, hence sitting on lots of boards in the corporate sector.

Mr. Obiri can be described as a ‘man on the ground’ who likes to ‘dirty his hands’ to get things done. He is the first to point to his staff for all achievements of the institution. With an infectious passion to get things done, he and his team have raised the company to the heights as one of the leaders in the pensions industry in Ghana.

Seth is married with children.
