Kyabobo National Park; a must visit Park in the Oti Region

Kyabobo National park is located in the newly created Oti Region and is one of the reserve national parks in Ghana mainly protecting wildlife and other rare animal species and also habitat to different kinds of plants and trees.

 Kyabobo National park which covers an area of 359.8 km² is found in the Dry semi-deciduous forest zone and has both forest and savanna species of plants and animals.

Animals found at the Kyabobo Park include Buffalo, Kob, Warthog, Aardvark and Baboon. others include Lions, Elephants, Bongo, Reedbuck and Hartebeest

The park is specifically found near Nkwanta in the Nkwanta South District of the region, and lies between the Savannah and tropical rain forest. Originally, the reserve was established in 1993 in a bid to help keep wildlife and other rare animal species safe as well as provide a comfort far from human activities and danger.

Despite Kyabobo Park houses more animal population, it host the famous Dzebobo Mountain, the second-highest mountain in Ghana.

The park is one of the most visited destinations in the newly created Oti region with tourists regularly visiting and its a prime location hiking.

Kyabobo Park also has a waterfall which has water flowing from the top of one of the numerous hills located within the park.
