The Debt Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has shut down Pasico Ghana Limited for the non-payment of taxes in excess of GH¢4.8 million.
Workers of pasico Ghana Limited were ordered to pack out as the entire premises was sealed off.
Head of the Tax enforcement team, Nathaniel Tetteh, told the media it is possible properties of the company could be auctioned, should management fail to pay in seven days.
The distress action comes as the GRA is pushing to meet its revenue target for the year 2019.
Commenting on the exercise, Ignatius Sabla, Principal Revenue Officer, in charge of debt management and compliance at the GRA, also told journalists all efforts to get Pasico to fulfill their tax obligations have failed.
“Pasico has been owing GRA for some time now. GRA has made all the possible arrangements to have the money paid but to no avail. They are not making any efforts to pay. So, today we came here to seal off the property so they will come make payment.
“If they are able to come to us to make arrangements or even pay we will come and open up the place for them,” he said.

Pasico, headquartered in Accra, Ghana is a subsidiary of Paterson Simons (Africa) Ltd. Based in Brighton, UK which has been trading in Ghana since 1948.
The Company operates a security grille, and louvre window building materials factory in Accra. A crane and forklift sales and engineering teams operate from offices and workshops in Tema, with a second team of engineers working from Takoradi.
Pasico presently has a workforce of over 130 people. It holds a classification ‘A’ membership of the Ghana Association of Employers, Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Association of Ghana Industries. The Company has also received in recent years seven (7) Ghana Club 100 awards.
